I see that you've implemented OpenID. This is a welcome addition!! You have shortcut buttons for several OpenID providers including Gmail.
Could you add one for Google Apps or maybe provide some information about how to configure for a Google Apps account?

    Hi Daniel,

I'm going to go ahead and add this to our feature request list. I was just reading a bit about it and it doesn't seem to be an extraordinarily different process than authenticating with a standard Google account.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Hey there Scott,

Just saw that you are in the Google Apps Marketplace at launch. We are a Google Apps Authorized Reseller and we have been working with your product for quite a while. I've just gone through the integration steps and it created a new account for us http://newmindgroup.batchbook.com instead of giving us an option to use our existing account http://newmind.batchbook.com.

How can we change the integration to use our existing account or maybe just change the subdomain on our existing account to newmindgroup?

    Hi Daniel,

Right now you're unfortunately suffering from being an early adopter as we don't currently have a way to push the integration to existing accounts.

    But Soon.

Hey Daniel, so existing Batchbook users can NOT link their account with Apps? I'm having trouble doing so, it's prompting me for a new domain name because the "existing one is taken"

    Jason,

You are correct. See Scott's reply just above yours. Apparently they are planning to add the ability to link to an existing account sometime in the future. :(

That's so disappointing. I was very excited to hear about the new App marketplace, but every single launch partner app I tried required the creation of a brand new account.

I can't give an exact date but this is a high priority addition now that the base connection is in place. Probably not this week but very soon

This is a feature I want as well so I've definitely got my +1 on this request.

That's great news Scott. This is a huge step moving forward in the integration department. I have a handful of users I work with that this would benefit greatly.

We've got big plans for this integration for sure. With this and our Small Business Web initiative we're hoping to really make it easy for everyone to just play nicely together.

Batchblue is one of several companies that have left existing customers out in the cold in regards to the Google Apps integration. I know you are working on it but it sure is irritating to be excited about integration then find out it is not ready for existing customers.

I also hope that the Google Apps integration will also include 2 way sync for contacts. I know this can be done as there are numerous apps on the market that can do a two way sync with google contacts and outlook / other applications. So here is hoping....

+1 for two way sync of contacts and calendar.

Charles is right many companies have abandoned existing customers on the Apps Marketplace.

We have not abandoned anyone. Just create an account through google apps and let us know what it is. We can then look at integrating it with your existing account. Just send an email to us at support@batchblue.com after it is done.

Just has to be hooked up after the fact. Not a real easy way to do it for existing accounts and has to be done on the backend for now. The more we do manually though will give us the code needed to make it work from the start.

When you say "create an account" do you mean sign up for BatchBlue via the Apps marketplace?

    Hi Andy,

Yes - sign up for an account via the Apps marketplace and then send us the details of that new account as well as the existing account.

It still amazes me that BatchBlue has thrown out their existing users in the wash with this issue. I really thought the programming staff at BatchBlue was better than this.

Hey Charles! We don't take too kindly to folks insulting the hard-working staff here at BatchBlue. No need my friend.

Sorry we're not giving the exact answer you want to hear, but we've told you why it wasn't in place for launch, that we're working on it, and offered a couple of alternate solutions until two-way sync is in place.

We are not abandoning anyone, leaving anyone out in the cold, or throwing anyone in the wash. We're building a great product for both new and existing customers and that takes some time to do correctly. If that's appealing, great! If not, there are certainly other options out there.

    Hey Michelle,

And your customers do not take to kindly to the vendor not providing a feature that we need, have ask politely for, and so far have no resolution except for hacks and workarounds that really do not solve the problem. If you take the criticism that personally then maybe you just need to fix the problem. None of your alternatives to the two way sync are realistic since they do not address the issue. Your solutions only work if everything revolves around BatchBlue. And in another post I did contribute a method to parse out the address blob that works. As for the google integration - I still do not understand the issue with the google integration and why you have it working for new customers but cannot hook up existing accounts.

We have been hooking up existing accounts just fine with google. All that needs is sent is a support request and it is done rather quickly.

    Sean,

I've had my request in for quite a while now. Any way you can check on it
for me or do you have quite a backlog of requests?

    Cheers,

No this was my fault and I missed the ticket. You are all set now and let us now if you have problems getting into your older account via google apps.
