Google sync needs to be 2-way

We really need to have two way sync with google. Contacts get added from many sources including smart phones that do a two way sync with Google. It is not feasible to browse to BatchBlue from the smartphone to work with contacts. Nor is it feasible to have to use a third party app instead of the phone to manage the contacts when the technology is there to do a two way sync. Please figure out how to make this work and implement it.

Here is an illustration of my pain:

I'm at a networking event or with a friend.

THEM: Oh, why don't you take my contact information?

ME: Great. I have an iPhone.

THEM: OK. I'll just type it in as a Contact.

ME: O' no you don't. That won't work because I use Batch Book. It will just get erased during a sync.
Can you please just type it into my notepad or an email so I can lose it and have to ask you later?

Or I could to try to bring up batch book on my browser which I must do through my password program (lastpass). Then the iphone app comes up which I use to jump to the standard web version which allows me to enter the contact info.

Is anyone else doing this differently? Any advice?

This is a problem we all face.

What I might do different is launch your email app, address the email to your batchbox, address the subject as a to do then "new contact" then hand the phone over and ask them to type it in the email.

sending the email creates a to do with subject "new contact".

alternatively, give the subject a more descriptive name, like "contact from x function".

    Agreed its a pain.

It shouldn't get erased - it just won't be pulled in to BatchBook. iPhone users should get a break soon with the app that is in development testing now with other mobile users hopefully soon after.

I like Jeff's idea to send it via email form to batchbook. I was just at a golf outing and ran into a similar situation.

Also - FYI as Scott mentioned... the contact will not be deleted from Google Contacts... it will live there... it just won't get into Batchbook.

The lack of 2 way sync is quickly becoming a deal breaker in using BatchBook as the benefits just don't seem worth the inconvenience. I think the BB team has badly underestimated the importance of this.
