Export Outlook Contact on Mac to csv for import
Exporting your Contacts from Outlook on a Mac takes a little more finagling but isn't difficult! Take a look below for step by step instructions on how to get your contacts out of Outlook and into Batchbook!
From Contacts in Outlook - go to Tools
- Choose the Tools menu from the Navigation bar.
- Select 'Export' from menu
Open a new Spreadsheet & Import file
Use Excel, numbers, openoffice or your favorite spreadsheet program that is capable of making csv. If you have lots of special characters we'd suggest Open Office as it handles them well. Use the prompts to import the information you just exported.
Text Import Wizard
You'll be led through the Text Import Wizard to format the data you're importing. Choose that your file data is 'Delimited' and then choose next
You have a handy new Excel file!
You should now have a nice new Excel file of your contact data including headers. Be sure however to turn it into a csv before importing into Batchbook. See below for instructions on turning it into a csv.
Create csv of your Excel file
Select 'Save As' from the File menu
Give the file an easy to remember name and choose 'Comma Seperated Values (.csv)' from the Format option. Click Save.
Click Continue to confirm any formatting changes.
